4th of July

When I say we've been busy, I mean we've really been busy! Our first weekend living in Spokane was actually spent in Tri-cities, WA. Chad's mom, Valerie, puts together a really nice open house for the family and everyone heads down the the river to watch the city fireworks. It's great food, great people and a beautiful setting. It was a little windy out by the river so Autumn, Chad and I headed back early, but from the house we could see fireworks too and in the comfort of an outdoor bonfire and roasted marshmallows.
GETTING READY TO GO!

This isn't everyone, but you get the idea...a lot of family!
Valerie, enjoying the company of her son. It's great that we only live 2-2 1/2 hours away now!

Here's Autumn being all cute and wonderful. I love her so much!

Autumn and Mackena all bundles up by the river to see the fireworks. Look how windy it is!

Moving

Many of you know that we moved to Spokane at the very tail end of June. Well we've been here for three weeks now and we're loving it so far! We've been pretty busy though and need to play a little catch up so I'll post several different blogs of our activities over the last couple weeks.

As far as moving, we spent what felt like forever cleaning up our apartment and getting ready to move out of Tigard/Portland. There were boxes everywhere! We ran into a little glitch when the power for the entire block went out in the middle of shampooing the floor, but fortunately it didn't stay off for very long. The as we were doing our test run for the trailer attached to the Penske truck we snapped a pin because it wasn't attached all the way. Good thing we did a test run! But the actual drive went smooth.

When we arrived in Spokane it was 100 degree weather and in the middle of Hoop Fest. It's an annual thing where a lot of the streets are closed off to play basketball. Not ideal situation for getting to know town and hauling around boxes, but we survived! he very next day Stephanie, Chad's sister moved her stuff into storage. She and her husband, Dustin, are moving here very soon from Seattle. Through everything, Chad's parents helped a GREAT DEAL and we're very grateful that they spent their vacation helping us out.The chaos of moving! And below is evidence of Chad and his dad having fun through all the mess.

And FINALLY...OUR NEW HOME!!

Here's Autumn and Stephanie colling off in the shade of our new front yard.
