Potty Training Manupulation
My darling Autumn has found a new way to manipulate me. She hates going to bed so she always makes up an excuse like "I'm so hungry" right when it's bed time. She also dislikes sitting on the toilet for potty training time. So yesterday when I told her (for the third time) to get back to her room because she's supposed to be taking a nap, she said "But I have to go potty!" *sigh* It was the first time she ever said that so, of course, I gave in. I know what she was trying to do, but this potty thing has been such a struggle and what if she really had to go?
On a different note, we've had the most wonderful Spring-like weather while the rest of the country has been buried under snow and ice. My parents and little sister are supposed to drive out here this week so I'm hoping and praying the weather doesn't hold them back so they can enjoy nicer weather for a change!

Leah's First Walk
This morning the weather was warmer (30's) so the girls of the house bundled up for a nice walk to get out of the house. At two and a half weeks old it was Leah's first outdoor outing. The pictures here are ordered backwards so the one at the bottom is us getting ready to leave. We walked to the library to return some videos where Autumn found a fun puddle to jump in. She was singing "Singin' in the Rain" while she jumped and tried to imitate splashes from Gene Kelly! Leah slept most the time. As you can see she was completely comfortable and cozy during our winter walk.

Thanksgiving 2009
I know I'm going backwards with my posts here, but I missed a lot of the fall stuff. This is Thanksgiving. Autumn was dancing with the Yo Gabba Gabba crew in the Macy's parade. Later she was coloring and playing football, and then there's a clip of playing with Papa (Chad's dad). It was just us, Chad's parents, sister (Stephanie) and her husband (Dustin) at our house for dinner. All in all it was a really nice weekend!

Banana Split Day
Autumn and I went downtown to the mall for a HUGE banana split and to see the Christmas tree around the beginning of December. We didn't get to go out to see the sights much this year, but I'm glad we got to do this! By the way, there is no way we were able to finish that thing. It really was huge! Our flavors were strawberry (Autumns favorite) cake batter, and oatmeal cookie dough.

Wood Stove or Furnace?
This happened about a month ago. Chad and I have had a really hard time getting our wood stove going. The owner of the house we're renting wants us to use only presto logs. If you've ever used them you might know they are a huge pain to light. They are wax coated cylinders, hard to stack and hard to catch on fire. One morning it was in the single digits outside and I was determined to get this thing going. So I piled on four logs, a lot of lighter fluid, newspaper and about 3 starter log/matches. The below picture is what I got! I was so proud that I got it started until the house warmed up super fast and the fire alarm went off every 5 minutes for the next 45 minutes. I thought my arms would fall off from fanning it! We had the windows and doors open and it was still warm inside. We also had the heater turned off for the rest of the day and it stayed warm even in the back of the house. I learned my lesson about putting too much in a wood stove! I haven't started a fire in it since.
Christmas Eve
We had Christmas Eve (and Christmas Day dinner) at Aunt Chris and Uncle Jim's house this year. We had a family member dress up as Santa. Autumn came up and snatched the candy cane out of his hand but there was no way she was going to sit on his lap! She said "ummm, no thanks" and ran away. We had a nice time and I got some pics of my last days of pregnancy. :)
